Sales to VAT registered entities will be subject to the Domestic Reverse Charge regulations i.r.t any metal containing gold. Gold Krugerrands, gold Natura coins and gold Protea coins are VAT exempt to all consumers.
All sales to individuals or entities who are not registered for VAT will be liable for VAT on all other bullion bars and coins.
All products carry proof of authenticity. The Rand Refinery products we sell have serial numbers printed on them and the packaging displays the certificate number. Every Moon Investments in house product is supplied with an assay certificate.
An ounce is 28.349523125 grams while a Troy Ounce is 31.1034768 grams. Gold is valued in Troy Ounces.
Price is set on confirmation of the order, which is secured once our internal sales department has received your proof of payment.
The spot price is the price at which mines sell precious metals to the various mints and refineries. The precious metals bought from the mines are then refined and manufactured (minted) into coins and bars, which carries an additional cost premium.

We stock limited products and offer delivery 24 – 48 hours from receipt of payment for these goods. For orders that need to be manufactured please expect it to take between 10 – 21 working days to receive your purchase.
Yes, orders can be collected from any of our branches: in Germiston, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth. For security reasons, prior arrangements must be made, and we require you to bring your ID or drivers licence.
A South African resident may export Krugerrand coins from South Africa up to the value of R30 000 as gifts to non-residents subject to the completion of the prescribed customs declaration, without the prior approval of the South African Reserve Bank.
Foreign visitors/travellers may take up to fifteen Krugerrand coins with them out of South Africa subject to the completion of the prescribed customs declaration, and given they can prove that the coins were acquired with foreign currency brought with them into South Africa.
